I’m always ready to entertain!

I’ve made it back! 5 weeks in Europe wasn’t enough, in my opinion, but then again good things should always leave you wanting more, right? Beaten, battered, and bruised, and also a screwed up knee, I somehow made it through 8 countries without loosing the love of my life, or make her somehow regret her decision get married. To keep it short, Spain, Iceland, and the Netherlands were the best. Parisians like to fight, I’m not sure why the Swedes have an obsession with chewing tobacco, and I think my liver is happier to be home than I am.

I’ve actually been back for a few weeks, but this is the first time I’ve had a chance to sit down and write up a blog post. In fact, I’ve been quite busy working away at the project, and I’ve gotten more done than I care to admit.

First off, I’ve fixed a relatively important bug in the follower scripts. I still have a lot of work to do handling those scripts, especially a re-work of some redundant portions, and optimization; however, I’ve finally gotten to a point where the player can have the standard Baldur’s Gate 6-Person Party. Here’s a video of Dynaheir and Minsc following the player.

Don’t piss off Minsc, he’s absolutely brutal.

As you can see, still quite a few issues to work through…but it’s progress, and good progress at that.

Next up on the list of goodies is Candlekeep. I’ve been rather bored lately with Nashkel. Every time I load it up in the CK, it just looks like one unending to-do list, so I gave myself a break and switched to Candlekeep this weekend.

Watching Tethtoril fall that far, and hopefully break his legs made me feel all warm and tingly.

As you can see, there has been significant positive progress in Candlekeep. I need to push through some more this weekend before I can really jump at the quest development full force, but looks fantastic already. I can’t wait until our team can start bringing aboard some modelers to really drive the progress home.

Finally, there was some work done to the outer area around the Xvart Village right before I left. I didn’t have time to show it off on the blog, but it looks nice for what I was able to accomplish.

With that, I bid you all farewell. Expect some more awesome videos next weekend!
